I have been blown away by the multi-page booklets, the artwork on the discs, and just the work that is put into making these quality CDs. I do believe that the original audio from the original CDs is the best in most cases.
I Album) finished Infinity and I'm moving on up to Evolution right now. I'm making a day and night of jamming out on these new CDs are bought and I am really enjoying it. The audio sounds great and unless you are a complete audiophile like me oh, you really probably will never realized there is any difference in the old and the new CDs.
And either way I think you'll be pleased with the new CDs. I hate compression but I do think it is awesome that you also get the free MP3 downloads with these discs. You can easily save the CDs to your phone where you don't really need a high quality audio file if you're just listening on earbuds.
I think Legacy did a wonderful job in preparing these discs so far and I am blown away by the booklets and even the concert dates that appear to be in the multi-page, high-quality inserts. Not to forget the LP tracks that are added where applicable on some of the CDs. You won't be sorry and especially at the price you can get these discs for! This is a seminal rock album, from one of the greatest rock bands of all time, Feeling That Way - Journey - Captured (Vinyl.
It's their best album. It marries the progressive rock sound from their earlier era with the incredible soaring vocals of Steve Perry. Neal Schon is perfect here, restrained yet still delivering those famous riffs.
Greg Rolie's vocals and song writing is superb. There are no throw away or bad songs on this album. If you are just staring with Journey this is the album to get. After this they get increasingly commercial with somewhat spotty quality and innovation from song to song. I still remember the first time I had any exposure to Journey. I was watching some late night rock n roll TV show, It was either Don Kirshner's Rock Concert or The Midnight Specialand this band came on with an incredible lead singer and tight instrumental chops.
They caught my attention immediately and I had to explore LP of their stuff. I went out and bought their then current album, "Infinity" on the strength of those 10 minutes of exposure, and was hooked right away. People who where already fans of the band recoiled in horror when vocalist Steve Perry joined the fold, but to my unexposed ears this was all new and fresh.
The use of occasional duel lead vocals between Perry and Rollie works great especially since they have such unique and different vocal styles. The music on this one is much less progressive oriented than on the band's previous discs, but there are still some very nice guitar, keys, drums work here and there on the album. I think Journey would go on to do better albums, but this one was a great launching pad for the band's next phase which would see them go from a club level act to arena superstars.
What can I say? I started with the latest Journey CD's then kept dropping back to an earlier one. Have not been disappointed yet! I go to sleep with the last heard song buzzing in my head, wake up in the middle of the night with another Perry tune, and upon waking in the morning, there is still a Perry song running through my head.
Elvis was my first hero, now it's Steve Perry. He couldn't be in LP company. Love Journey with Steve Perry. I could listen to it 24 hours a day. One person found this helpful. When this album came out, it was my favorite of anything out at the time. I can't listen to it every day, but it's definitely worth throwing on the stereo once a month or so for me. The recording will sound sub-par by todays standards, but it's still clear enough to listen to. I figure anyone who's looking at this CD already knows the music so I don't need to describe that.
It's well worth the price though. And when you own the CD, no corporation can tell you how many times or on what devices you can play it on! Great songs, including the lesser known ones. Steve Perry getting his groove on with his new band. See all reviews. Top reviews from other countries. Translate all reviews to English. Schnell geliefert. Was will man mehr?
